Animal Timeline Project
This is our slide show for our presentation.
What we did in this project was we took an animal of our choosing and then we traced back its lineage and tried to find 5 common ancestors. At first we chose the platypus but there is no known relatives besides the echidna due to limited fossils that have been found so we changed our animal to the shark and traced it back to its predecessors.
We learned about common ancestors and direct ancestors and used that in our project by finding direct ancestors. For an example, the Lamnidae family of sharks are directly related to the great white but the mako shark is thought to be just a relative with a common ancestor.
